A brand new Technics SL-1500C & his issues!

 Good evening! 🟩⬜🟥

This week I received my new turntable, a Technics SL1500C, in silver as I anticipated;

A wonderful turntable, very good-looking with a heavy body,
OK!

Now, the problems:

1- the platter wobbles a little, but I think (I hope) it's within tolerance;

2- auto-lift issue:

the tonearm doesn't reach the outer groove but stops early, many seconds before the end of the last track!!!

H-A-T-E & R-A-G-E!!! 🤬💀

I had the same problem with my old "Thorens TD-280 MkII"!

This caused a strange effect in the cue lever machanism, wich got jammed and the tonearm wouldn't stay down.

Panic!

I tried to do some web research, but everywhere I read about only two solutions:

1- send the turntable back to the shop;
2- send the turntable to Technics assistance.

So, I emailed the shop where I bought the turntable and planned a return.
BUT, before doing that, the dealer gave me a suggestion:

"have you tried pulling down the cue lever until it clicks?"

ME: "yes, I tried that, but nothing happened!"

After a few hours, I tried ANOTHER method:

I turned off the "Auto-lift" option and pulled down the cue lever strongly - and CLICKED!! The mechanism released, and the lever started working normally!

WoW!!!

So, in short, if the cue lever of your Technics SL-1500C is jammed and won't stay down:

turn off the auto-lift using the small switch on the back of the turntable, then pull down the cue lever firmly until it clicks.
The mechanism should now work.

I'm not a fan of the auto-lift feature on a turntable, so in my case I'll keep it disabled forever.

Thanks for reading and,
sorry for my english.
