BAUHAUS
My favourite band.
No other words are needed.
Bauhaus:
Peter Murphy: vocals
Daniel Ash: guitar
David J: bass
Kevin Haskins: drums
In this topic I'll show you my personal collection about this band from Northampton, England; probably the most famous dark-wave band from early '80s.
My favourite, of course!!!!!
In my collection I have not only Lp's or 45's, but other material; I will update this topic with pics of these.
I own first four albums, the four released in early '80s:
1- In The Flat Field, original first UK release from 1980;
2- Mask, UK reissue from 1981;
3- The Sky's Gone Out, original first UK release from 1982, with additional Press Eject And Give Me The Tape additional Lp;
4- Burning From The Inside, last album and obviously first UK release from 1983.
Burning From The Inside is not the last album of the band. Last official album seems to be Go Away White from 2008, but generally I'm not interested in music production from the end of the '90s till today, because I like NOTHING of this era, a black screen, in my own opinion.
I started listening Bauhaus in 2007, when I was 20; I had the famous CD copilation from 1986 called Bauhaus - 1979-1983 volume 1 and 2... and finally in 2014 I started a collection of original Lps and other material of the band.
So,
I will start and move forward in chronological order, showing you my copy of
In The Flat Field, first Bauhaus album, original 1980 4AD UK release:
Mask, second Beggars Banquet (no longer 4AD) album of the band in this gatefold sleeve wonderful UK reissue from 1981:
The Sky's Gone Out, the third Beggars Banquet album by the band;
here we have a release from 19 Oct. 1982 with Press Eject And Give Me The Tape, an additional record with WONDERFUL live performances and the best version of Bela Lugosi's Dead ever released, in my opinion.
The Sky's Gone Out is my favorite Bauhaus album; I also own CD and cassette releases of it.
Press Eject And Give Me The Tape
Burning From The Inside, the final album by Bauhaus, released in 1983. Here's my original UK copy from july '83:
No more albums from the 80s.
Bauhaus reeased other albums in the early 2000s, but I'm not interested in them and I don't think I'll ever get them.
So, I can start now to show you some other material by the band such as, singles, compilations and live recordings.
Well, let's start with The Singles 1981-1983, a compilation released in 1983 made in West Germany, that contains six tracks;
I'm particularly attached to this record because it is the first Bauhaus record that I've bought; I found it in 2014 at a flea market in a little medieval town here around - nice atmosphere!
Bauhaus 4AD, another interesting 12" compilation that contains some singles released by the band; here's my original UK release from October 1983:
Bauhaus 1979-1983
Here's my original Beggars Banquet UK -and worn out!- release from 1985.
Gatefold sleeve, with a booklet.

Inner sleeves
Terror Couple Kill Colonel
Original 4AD 7" single from 1980, UK release. Includes the track Scopes on the B-side and a slow version of Terror Couple Kill Colonel.
Lagartija Nick
Original Beggars Banquet 12" from 1983, UK release. Features the incredible Watch The Grandad Go, Paranoia, Paranoia and an interesting live version of In The Flat Field, recorded in Paris.
The Passion Of Lovers
Original Beggars Banquet 7" single from June 22, 1981; UK release.
On the B-side....... 1234, a gem.
The Bauhaus - Live In Milano 3.5.82 - Odissea 2001
Here you can see one of the most important -and most expensive!- record of my Bauhaus collection:
a live performance from May 1982 in Milan (Italy) at Odissea 2001, a goth club that no longer exists.
A very important audio document that I'm proud to own.
Kick In The Eye - Searching For Satori E.P.
Original Beggars Banquet EP, UK release, 1982.
Includes two notable tracks on the B-side: Harry and Earwax.
My Bauhaus t-shirt by Fruit of the Loom !
I bought it back in the summer of 2007.
The print and the logo used to be white... once upon a time.
I will update Bauhaus topic nextly, with pics of other records and material that I collected in the years.
Stay tuned!
