About my turntables... from '14 to '24

I started my personal journey with turntables, records, etc. ten years ago, during the summer of 2014, and I've never stopped since.

The first turntable I ever had was a broken Pioneer Pl-112D, a device from '70s that I bought on eBay during the summer of 2014. At the time I was completely inexperienced - just a boy fascinated by old things...

The turntable had broken plexiglass, visible at the top on the right;
the pivot of the platter was crooked: so the platter was abnormally crooked!!!

Useless.

I've swapped the Pl-112 with a (working) 1990 Thorens TD-280 MkII, made with sad plastic;
I never liked this one, never appreciated the "auto lift", wich stopped most of the records seconds before the end of the last track!!
I used this turntable to learn the basics, like setting the correct cartridge weight, the Anti-skate and the best way to use a protractor.
Mine from 2014 to 2020.

I always loved the design of the Technics SL1200, but an original MkII was to expensive for me;

so:

The Audio Technica AT-LP140XP was probably one of the best fake version of the SL-1200, but unfortunately made with cheap materials... in the picture you can see it playing "Sid Sings", a wonderfoul and explicit album from 1979, with live recordings by punk star Sid Vicious.

Punk milestone!

I enjoyed this turntable until the beginning of 2024.

IV turntable:

Rega Planar 3.

A very nice turntable, with minimal design, glass platter, and sounds fantastic in my system with its dedicated cartridge: the famous Rega Elys 2.

I sold it after three months.

My final and probably definitive turntable, the Technics Sl-1500C: a dream come true.

I love the design of Technics, and the tonearms with "SME" type headshell sockets, because these offers a wide choice of cartridges you can mount on your turntable.
So, you can understand why I sold the P3 and bought the 1500C...

The 1500C sounds great in my system, with the factory mounted Ortofon 2M Red.
But I'm planning upgrades, like new cables and a different cartridge.

That's all!

Stay tuned and.......

.......sorry for my english!
